Since a lot of you guys were cool enough to sit back and let some of the newer members have a crack at competing, I feel obligated to let you guys showcase your skills and show the unwashed masses how it's really done.

So stand by and let me come up with a TRUE test of your badass lockpicking skills. Let's see if you can walk it like you talk it!

Newbies, old gnarly bastards, uber-geeks, part-timers - all will be eligible.

What about advanced tools? Medecoders, H&M MTL picks, disc detainer picks, and other high security picks with index tubes or multiple moving parts? UFC level is good, but do we want to go bare knuckle brawl to the death on it? If we allow code setting keys, then why not bump keys, then why not foil impressioning, you know? How do we make it pure without limiting the field of great entries? Standard tools only, or will you factor advanced pick tools into the scoring. I don't envy you having to sort that mess out, but I'm looking forward to see what you come up with.

Two contests in a row, you're really on a roll cheif administrator Chalmers. Do we know what the swag will be yet?

That would be funny if lockpicker filmed that, breaking a shackle off of a lock. I suppose that would work in a contest, it sure would get my vote!

Ok guys, let me have some ideas as to what you'd like to see in the next contest. I already have a pretty sick idea as to what I want to put you guys through, but just to show that I am not a total, autocratic despot, drunk with internet power, I'm willing to listen to any sensible, but devious suggestions that you may have.

So for the remainder of this thread - ONLY POST CONTEST SUGGESTIONS!

My first thought is that this contest would be restricted to extremely high -security locks (Medecos, Mul-T, etc.) I figure every hotshot picker on this site has at least one really badass lock in the pile that is his or her Mt. Everest - the ultimate pinnacle of success by which he/she gauges their personal ranking within the lockpicking universe.

Talk amongst yourselves and get back to me with some more ideas - on this thread.

How about the first picking an MT5+ cylinder?
or any really high security lock?
And then of course with regular tools (dimple, euro or regular picks).

On the other hand,

If you want to be completely honest and challenging, then pick one lock, ship it to the first participant.
He has to open the sealed package on video and pick it right away (blind of course).
Time that picking.
Now get the lock back and send it to the next and the same story continues.

It's a lot of work to do it like this, but this will be a true test of skills as it will test someones ability to pick a lock in real life, so for the first time, without a key

I think Hallis was thinking about getting rid of his old porn collection this may be the prize for the contest, or perhaps his Michael Jackson, "Thriller" record.

Postage will kill me.

the cost of entering is postage to the next contestant ( it would be like a Keyes the Rabbit)
if anything you get a crack at a sweet lock and if you fail then you know you need to spend some more time practicing =)
