5 Lever RR padlock

It's stamped PRR, stamped that it's made in Pennsylvania, and even give a year, 1966. I used a few "tension" bars to shim the shackle cam against the levers for binding and picked it with a taller hook. I especially like the brass shackle and pins.

I think it is a Slaymaker as they made locks for the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) and were based in Lancaster Pa.

Nice lock!

Ed

EDIT: Some information, for a different railroad, but looks identical: http://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.a ... id=7684409

Thanks 'Lbow, but it's a customers. Guy brought in a box of 'em and I went straight for the toughest pick. It was hard as shit to get any decent leverage on the shims.

That's the one Ed. Except for a brass shackle, and this neatly stamped lettering.

Nice lock Tooly!

I have a dumb question: why is the first picture blue? is that a photographic technique to show small marks better? Did you use a blue light to take the picture? Did you modify the image with photoshop?

Cheers :)

Tooly: You need a key made for it?

I have the same exact lock. It's a slaymaker built for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mine is stamped 1953, Lancaster PA.
Do you know how to make a key for it? My daughter is dying to get this thing working.

I can make a key for it. The lock can be impressioned or decoded using 'L' wires referenced against the center pin.
