Two questions =)

When I look at Abloy's model numbers,

it is clear that the second digit is the CEN grade, where higher is better. I assume the first digit is the model, but what does the third mean? Higher is not better here, as a 340 is stainless steel where 341 is brass.

When the 656 is locked you don't have access to the the screw that holds the shackle. I haven't been able to find any pictures or videos that shows the holes up close on the 340/350/242/362. Can anyone tell me if anything can be unscrewed on these while they are closed?

On the 330, the screw holding the collar is blocked when the shackle is down. I don't have the other locks, so I can't tell you about those.

From the birth place of Abloy: Yes, in all of the Abloy locks the shackle leg prevents access to the screw when locked. Only exception in padlocks is the 3020 that is crimped and can't be disassembled and 320/321 locks that have an install-once type of retaining ring which prevents disassembly.

Technically the 321 has a pin hammered into the access hole but if you were to drill it out I believe the screw can be accessed behind that, although of course that would kill the security of the lock . Check out my lock collection breakdowns which feature the 330, 342, 350 and 362 (as well as the aforementioned 321 and 320) - all of the former have the screw access hole protected by the shackle .

My only concern is, because there is that hole cut into the side of the body (to allow a hex key through), it provides a perfect guide hole if a DE attacker wanted to drill through the shackle and drill the grub screw out. I can't imagine that would be easy, though....
