Hi

Is this simple to do by my self, or is it best to go to a dealer?

I have the key thats works now, and just wants to program it to work with a new key.

Nice TrioVing!

It is not too hard to rekey that lock. Get a wood dowel or some kind of rod the same diameter as the plug of the lock. Remove that clip at the back of the plug. The cam (metal that sticks out the back of the plug will come off once that clip is removed.

Use the follower (wood dowel, metal rod, AA battery, etcetera) to push out the plug, keeping the holes in the plug facing up to prevent the key pins from falling out. (Much easier if you have the key in the plug).
Once you have the plug out, you can dump the pins out of the plug.

Remove the old key, insert the new key, and put in pins that fit even with the top of the plug while the key is in the plug.

Once the key pins are all installed, with the key still in the plug, use the plug to push out the follower until the plug is fully installed. Make sure the key still turns!

Now put the cam back on the back of the plug, then the retaining clip.

Done!

Note: TrioVing uses the standard diameter pins used in most euro-profile locks.
