Re: BRINKS 101-45092 Question

I have the same lock you have. It has a blue sticker covering the rekey window right? Any regular KIK cylinder will fit in there and it uses "standard" sized pins (aka the LAB universal size, Sargent, Kwikset, Schlage, etc)

Is this it:

The code is hidden in the tumblers. One position opens the lock, another position opens one of these doors...

Re: BRINKS 101-45092 Question

Xeo was right. normal .003 pins that all regular house locks use. that's not an IC core. although the bottom looks like one, when you open the padlock, you use the allen wrench they supplied with the lock, and remove the screw inside the shackle hole. once that is removed, the lock cylinder will drop out.

Hey Jerry, that's my vid. Although I have the lock... it seems these guys know more about it than I do. lol
Xeo is correct on the pins... and Keymaster is right, it's not a true IC core. But if there's any details I can get for you by looking at the lock or the package, let me know.

Re: BRINKS 101-45092 Question

An ic core uses a control key to remove it, no removal of screws, etc. is needed.

Re: BRINKS 101-45092 Question

just a quick update decided to change the pinning and took it apart i was looking at the lock body and before i knew it it fell apart in my hands i thought wellll i will keep it nice lol anyways after the shock and a little studying i was able to put it back together.then on to repinning it.i was going to start over from scratch but then i desided to just remove a few pins but to late all ready dumped all the pins so i had to figure how to rekey it and after a few days of reading and thinking i just got it done YEAH lol.took and made it a 3 pin with 2 spools

Re: BRINKS 101-45092 Question

Haha. Thanks for the update. And that's the first of many episodes to come... lol... but that's how we learn! I've most certainly fudged up a couple locks myself.

Keep at it, and keep sharing with us!
