Sounds like a spring is binding at the shearline perhaps. Can you take a light and look inside at all?

I've been able to drill those retaining nuts out and take the cylinder out on Master and American padlocks.

Innerpicked: The more keys you carry, the more important you look

I had a master pro series without a key and I bought new retaining nuts and a replacement cylinder with keys.

I will take a look. I did what you said and it help (everything got a bit easier to move) but that damn pin messed it up. If that spring is in the shearline how do I fix that?

Master 6121 did that to me once, I had to drill it

Most padlock won't turn 180 degrees, what brand/model is this?

I'd try to set everything else and then slowly force it down with a filed key and a rubber mallet.
