The cuts in the bottom of the key are designed so when the interlocking pinstacks sever on the shearline when the lock turns, when the plug rotates 180 degrees the severed keypins stay correctly rotated as they pass through the bottom cuts in the key.

A little difficult to explain without showing pictures of the pins. See below how they are connected by a small tab joined into a female groove? The male tab rides through those holes in the key as it turns by the 180 degree mark.

Holy (#$*@... son of a #%#($#.... mother %#$@^!!! lol.
I'm gobblin that shit up! Glad you took the time for all the pics.

SO much to look through... but one that really made my balls tingle: ASSA SCD
As you know I've really not entered the ASSA world yet. Could you tell me a bit
about this one? Looks like it has at least 10 pins?! That keyway looks very evil.
And that is one %$@^ of a bitting.... whooooa! Very sexy.

p.s. I see future 'chess piece pins' :D My favorite pins of all time!

Great collection, Xeo! You have some really great stuff, and some absolutely wicked bittings and keyways.

What model is that DOM with the "U" shaped keyway? That one would be fun to work on!

Gordon

Thanks. The DOM is a "System D". Keyway looks like an evil man with horns or something.

I was thinking the same thing about the devil horns. :D

I broke the warding off while picking it. There is supposed to be a small warding in the center on the top.

wow, v nice collection xeo! I somehow always had the impression you are not about collecting just about picking, but that nice pile of locks proves otherwise :)
