ISEO Perfecta? "High security" door lock gutted

Hello,

Saw this on ebay and decided that it looked pretty damned sweet so I bought one. Excuse the wobbly video and crappy pictures, i have 2 broken hands at the moment. :fu:

Thumbs posted, click them for bigger images.

The box:

Inside of the cover:
Here is how the bolts are retracted and extended. Im using the knob on the back to turn it.

Lock cylinder in neutral position:

With the key inserted. Notice the little tab pushes out to interact with the...cam?

Baco of cylinder cover taken off:

Keyway:

Taking it apart:
Start by taking out the spring:
Image
Then this bar which is what pops out and turns the cam:
Image
It has this washer on it that the spring pushes against to hold it into the cylinder:
Image
Pull out the grey round piece, it is what holds the springs and "top" pins. You could do this the easy way and poke it from the keyway with the cylinder on its side and not dump everything like i did.
Image

The base with a spring pin in place. The springs and pins are attached to each other. Only the 4 pins on the side are used in the lock, the top one provides tension between the 2 cylinders.
Image
Where the key intercts the pins.
Image
The pins. The thin part is affecte by the key, while the wider part determines how deep the key is cut.

With the pins in the correct place and key inserted:

Cool lock. I regret not buying one a few years ago when a guy on ebay was clearing them out for $35ea, shipped.

Ugly!

First I have to say that mine has only 4 pins as well. But it seems like they can have up to 6.

I just picked mine and those are evil! They behave a little like tubular locks. You pick the 4 (6) pins and you can turn the plug. After 90° there is on additional pin that goes into the hole of on of the outer pins. This one has to be pushed in. Close to 180° all pins start to go into the holes of the opposite ones. Put all those back in position. Then at 270° the additional pins goes into the whole of the other outer pin. While picking and turning you also have to push in the mechanism in the middle that operates the cam. It would be cool to have a tension wrench that does it as well.

Thank you very much for sharing!
Those locks are uncommon in Norway, but the lock has fascinated me, might have to have an extra ebay-look c;)

When picked the first time, would it be possible to make a small setup-key and use it to complete the turn? Hard to tell from the pictures, but will probably find out when I buy my own.

I would think that it is possible. There are only 4 pins and when you pick it you can just find out how much is left out and figure your key out from there.

Re: ISEO Perfecta? "High security" door lock gutted

There was a time when I used to think High Security was anything that was different from a standard pin cylinder. But even with the UL-437, which is only a label, I got to applaud the locksport community for opening my eyes.

You guys are like the ninjas of locksmithing. My hat goes off to you guys.

Just some random rambling I had to get off my chest. :)
