A little while ago I received a few Lockwoods and a BI-lock from Bezza. I haven't picked the Bi-Lock yet as I have been super busy with work lately. I have the day off today and I wanted to tackle the JA restrictive profile Lockwood cylinder he was kind enough to send with a key. I wound up using a Peterson slimline Gov't steel reach as well as my trusty Peterson Slim Gov't steel hook. Along with a custom Wizwazzle (AWOL) TOK Tension tool designed specifically for TOK American lock picking I was able to get this lock opened. Tolerances and patience ran high with this lock. But I finally got it. Picture time.... (sorry bout the crappy cell phone pictures but it's all I got at the time.)

As an aside. Sorry I've been pretty much absent from the forums for a while. As I've said I was pretty busy with work. (2 Jobs) But a special thanks to Bezza for the locks and Awol for the awesome tension tools I use them almost every time I pick anything. I hope to find more time to hang out on the forums when work slows down. And whats with all the new vulgar smilies.. Funny stuff.. :asslicker:

The key-way was definitely a challenge but I think the high tolerances (very little feedback) and that low-cut second pin and fourth pin were my biggest obstacles.

Great job man those lockwoods can be a hard pick

I have a couple of those lockwoods mine are the all stainless steel models & I have never been able to pick them on a consistent basis
that being said mine do not have that restrictive key like the one you have

are there any other members who find these a hard pick I do know they have very tight tolerances.

Nice job on the Lockwood mate, you use a lot of tension on it? and I'm interested to know if you tried a bogata on it? or just straight in with the short hook?
They usually open pretty easy with a bogata pick cause the tolerances are tight if you can get them in the keyway.

Straight in with the reach for the rear pins and then the short hook for up front.. I rarely use a rake on anything.. I'll give raking a shot later when I get home but I just don't know if a rake will do me any good because of the low cut 2&4 pins. I believe that the rake will just overset them.. But I'll give it a shot and maybe use the tension wrench back flip "as I call it" to see if I can get those pins back down to shear and pop it.

I like the challenge of SPPing a lock. I also found that starting off with pretty light tension worked pretty well on this lock. However, as with any high tolerance lock, I find myself increasing tension exponentially with every set pin so as to not drop any that have set. This is also why I switched up picks towards the end I needed something a little bit studier to lift the final pins as I increased tension. Pretty standard stuff but I really enjoy the subtle feedback of the Lockwoods. Makes picking it consistently more rewarding. Thanks for the kind words.

i am very curious how that 5 digit code corresponds with the key bitting.

nope nothing to do with the key bitting it it just and old padlock that came out of service thay stamp there locks

I'll see if I can't get a pic of the guts anyway just for the fun of it. After I try raking it. You know if it weren't for your tension wrenched you sent me a long time ago, I wouldn't get through many of the locks that I have so cheers on that bud.

3 x Standard Lockwood Profile loose cylinders w/o keys

I think that's it. Hope that helps your memory

BTW.. I tried raking this thing just now.. No go.. Then tried scrubbing.. No go. Repeated process with two different rakes (homemade bogata and Peterson "W" rake) However, I did try to use the W rake as sort of a double ended hook pick and kinda SPPed (or I guess DPPed) it in under 10 seconds.. Now I can consistently open this lock in under 25 seconds using this method.. Fun and exciting indeed but now it's kinda lost its luster.
