Risks of Posting Photos
I know this is old news. And I know many people have known this for awhile now.
But I'm betting there's just as many people that have never given it a thought.
Smartphones now attach, embed, & store where a photo was taken. Exact GPS coordinates.
In turn, every photo or video you share online has a footprint which can be accessed.
Ignorance or carelessness could potentially put you, or worse yet, others at risk.
1. Google search, "What information can be derived from a picture posted online?"
This will yield a slew of stories and research that will open your eyes to the possibilities.
2. Google search, "How to turn off geo tag on (whatever phone you have)?"
Or, "How to remove photo location info on the (whatever phone you have)?"
You'll find simple directions on how to disable geo tags on your phone.
You can also edit and remove such info on previously taken photos.
