Re: J.B. Miller / Gougler Combination Retrieval

Been talking with a new member here that was hoping to retrieve the combination to an old Gougler.
They're willing to send it to me - but shipping's expensive - and there'd be no guarantees I'd open it.

I don't find it in any of my code books. Wondered if anyone else could dig up a combo for it?

On the shackle # 227
On the body # 29

It's a red-dot Gougler and has the slot in the bottom for a key.

I'm trying to find codes/codebooks for Gougler, myself.

Just when you think you've learned it all, that is when you find you haven't learned anything yet.

Re: J.B. Miller / Gougler Combination Retrieval

I have an old Miller without a combo that I can send you. (see photos)
I have enough problems with keyed locks.
If you're interested send me your address.
If you can't open it you are welcome to gut it as long as you upload photos to help others.

...No word from 'em yet on whether the combo worked or not.

Yeah... and Reed's set isn't of much help - containing very little on Gouglers.

Well thank you! I'll pm ya my addy. You can check on shipping costs, then decide.

If I'm successful in retrieving the combo, maybe you would be interested in having
it back? I'd likely be willing to cover shipping back to you if that's the case.

.
.

Thank you candado3! Your package arrived today.

Believe it or not, I actually opened this one right up, still setting in my car next to the mailbox, lol.
Wouldn't expect this very often - but I got it by simply pressing my ear up against the back side.

Funny part is that I hadn't kept very good track of my movements - so after taking this photo and
closing it up, I could not for the life of me open the damn thing again. ha. Eventually got it though.

Anyone looking to 'fill in the blanks' in their code books. (It's not in my Reed book).
Shackle# 59. Turn left (CC) to reach a solid stop, then start Right (R,L,R,L) 3-2-3-2
NOTE: This thing is old and odd. The 'clicks' normally used to count off the combo
are no longer distinct enough to count exactly. I believe this is right, but you may
want to put a ? by it, and if it doesn't work - at least you'll know it's damn close.

So candado, my offer still stands to send this back to ya if your interested. If not, I'll find a home/hook
for it in the lockroom... and look forward to returning the favor someday when the opportunity arises.

Re: J.B. Miller / Gougler Combination Retrieval

Glad to see that you were able to get it open.
As I said before, I have little interest in combination locks so I have no use for it and you are free to do with it as you please.
