Diebold 4 wheel vault lock. Pics. Any info?

So I managed to get a few interesting items on ebay and this was one of them. It is missing a few parts, did not include a change key or dial :(

But I have never seen one before so I got it anyway :D Does anybody have any info on it such as a model number? Or perhaps some spare parts?

And now for Oldfasts.... perusal

The cover. One of the change key holes is plugged with the black plastic.
Image

It is missing the bottom offset drive plate and the 2 other gears.
Image

Possible production date?
Image

Unlike the S&G vault locks which use the cover screw to attach the wheel pack to the main post this Diebold uses a normal screw and the cover screws into an extra hole.
Image

The wheel pack is a bit different than the S&G ones as well. It is only a single wheel instead of 2 like in S&G locks. It is also VERY hard to turn so cleaning will be needed. Does anybody know what the 2 and 3 with increments are for?
Image
Image

All the parts are also stamped with part numbers I assume? Here is the one on the wheel pack
Image

The inside of the lock. You can see another part number on the bottom after the lever/fence and bolt is removed.
Image
Image

And the bolt inside the lock body is hollow for cost savings I assume instead of solid steel like on S&G locks. Again, with another part number.

Looks like a La Gard wheelpack, now that I have seen the "Diebold" stamp I understand -they created a franken lock using some S&G and other parts.
I recall working on an inner vault door made be Diebold once, they are something else, the way they will bolt two dif items together & call it Good

Great lock, thankyou for sharing it with us!

Those do look a lot like LaGard wheels. I've never had the chance to play with a Diebold vault lock before, but have played with a few of their safe locks. The wheels in some of them were also very much like LaGard wheels & exhibited the same oval shape when measured by graphing.

The increments on the inner ring of the combination wheel are really puzzling & I'm stumped as to their purpose. Are they on every wheel & if so do they show the same number range? I'm very curious about them!

It looks like the relevant parts of the lock can be flipped over, so the lock can be changed from LH to RH, too. I haven't noticed that on another lock before. EDIT : now I look at it, I notice the S&G can do this too.

I have not yet taken it apart so I am unsure if they are on all of the wheels. A project for tomorrow I guess.

Definately a La Gard change key looks like the 3330 series.

If you look at the pictures in the first post, in the bottom of the lock there are 2 holes in the silver ring at about 1 and 6 o'clock. Those are for the tip of the change key.

I tried a 3330 change key but it is actually too long. The cutout in the key sits just above the wheel pack plate.

You're gonna need a bench grinder to fix that problem

Be happy to sell you another that you can alter on your grinder for $5, I bet an original diebold key will prove tough to impossible to find
That is a wonderful lock, I wonder if Diebold still has nos on their shelves

I have a whole wack of change keys that I need to get shipped up to me, will probably be some in there. Anything is possible although the Diebold website does not list anything specific.

yeah thats a s&g lock manufactured for diebold, it normally uses what i call a mickymouse change keys, but diebold at also had the half moon change key made also.

beware that diebold most of the time, half moon keys turns backwords, meaning it doesnt use a normall lagard change key but one is a complete mirror image of the change key. the moon is cut backwards. dont force it most of these locks are missed up because someone forced the wrong change key in
