Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Dont worry about the camera for a sec.
Run through as many all wheels left 4 x to a number like 39 and then right to open.(just past zero)
Im sure all your wheels are lined up in that video.
Hoping someone else chimes in or you message back that it opened!
Im hoping its just a matter of slowly imcrimenting wjhat you did to line them up... keep adding a number and test handle see if ir opens.
Then turn the dial back past 0 to see if it retracts the bolt whil jiggling the handle.
If not dial 4 times to left again to next number... testing handle... back past 0... test handle...
Repeat until right around the dial.

Yes I looked at this post befor I posted. Its a bit older than mine.
Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Well being a 302-402 may explain why I got it all backwards to begin with... I just assumed the drive cam was at the back of the lock not closer to the dial like yours.
That being said the theory is the same in that you have to take note of which numbers it takes to line up all the wheels. Which in your vid its strange its as if tthey are all lined up in synch to begin with... so it may mean just progressively incrimenting that number by 1 and testing each time if it will open... the idea is to progressively move the gates (which should be lined up) around the dial until it lines up with fence and opens up.
I learned lots too.

Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Ya being new i didnt know if it is normal. I assumed it was, i turned it left a bunch of times and spun till I could see the holes line up. I was like ok that looks good what snext. Then the gates seemed to line up as well.
So with that normaly I would look at the CKH and see only the hole in the closest wheel. then I would have to manipulate till I found the next wheels hole and so on?

Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Exactly... but im used to the wheels spinning in a different order which would happen if the drive cam is closest to the back where you were viewing. I just learned that on some like yours the drive cam can be closer to the dial.
Theory is the same though... figure out what it takes to line up the wheels then use that to progress the gates around until they are where they need to be to open.
I swear your half way there... you just have to progress the gates to where they need to be and then presto... it should open.
If they are very slightly off... vibration may help by hitting the face of safe to jiggle things into place.
You are soooo close.

Give it a day or two I am sure someone here with more experience should be able to chime in and help out.
Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Here is how I dial my Mosler 302 open from the key change hole.
1. Dial Left until you pick up the wheel closest to the key change hole. Dial slowly until the wheel has its key change hole lined up. Look at the number at the opening index and subtract 10. That's the FIRST number in the combo.
2. Dial right slowly right until you see yourself pick up the middle wheel in the stack. Slowly line up the middle wheel's key chamge hole with the first key change hole you found. Look at the opening index and subtract 10. That's the SECOND number in the combo.
3. Now dial left again this time watching through the key change holes you've lined up so far to see the farthest wheel's key change hole line up. Again check the opening index and subtract 10. That's the THIRD number in to combo. Honestly, the Mosler is really easy because the cam is on the dial side and the offset is 10
Now dial the lock open with the true combo. LRL.
Good luck!!

Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
So if all wheels turned left and all change key slots line up at about 39 like in this example.
What would the combo be?+10 or -10?
If its + 10 then perhaps it was set for all wheels left 4x to 50 then right to open?

Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Ya what He said??
Re: Need help with first Manipulation/scope
Try it out. All wheels left 4x to 50 then right to open.
If its -10 try all wheels left 4x to 30 then right to open.
Try numbers from 25 up to 55... somethings got to give lol.
