Herring Hall Marvin walk in safe!

This is at the fairgrounds where I am volunteering. I'm volunteering at the first aid station through CERT (community Emergency Response Team), and get to see this almost every day until the 3rd:

here's the dial:

I'm not good at manipulation yet, so I only halfheartedly tried, plus I'm representing CERT as well as the county I live in, so I kind of need to refrain from stuff that can get me in trouble! Plus, this thing isn't used any more, this used to be the main office, and also where all the money was kept!

I've seen it open a few years back, the door is only about quarter inch steel, plus cinderblocks aren't that hard to break through. Just a room with wooden shelves, now used for storage of old documents I think. (I'd like the door to put in my basement, that would be cool!

Very cool. At least when they painted over the door they were nice enough to not paint over the logo.

Phoneman, Don't do it. The first rule here is not to open other peoples stuff without permission. And a side note, these doors were very plain the name was probably the only decoration on it. Now BEHAVE!!

Re: Herring Hall Marvin walk in safe!

Mastersmith, I don't intend to try anything with it, don't worry. I have spun the dial a bit (it's really smooth), but that's it. Like I said earlier, it's in the guest services building, (people coming and going constantly) I'm representing my county Office of Emergency Management, and as you mentioned, it's not mine. All good reasons to just admire it.

It is possible that they would give you permission to try it, but also possible that it may hold something of value. Perhaps the mayor's porn collection is in there?

Re: Herring Hall Marvin walk in safe!

I don't know if they'd let me try it, but they MIGHT open it up for me. I've gotta be careful how I go aout it though, because if they think I have bad motives, it will look bad on the organization I represent, and we want to be welcome back next year. I'll see what I can do. Plus, I suck at manipulation at the moment, it will be awhile before I get good enough to take on a lock like that!

And lol on the porn collection!
