Help with Master 642(?)'s stuck dial

Hi

I have this Master padlock (maybe type 642? Not too sure, please correct me if I'm wrong) which I used from when I need a low security combination padlock.

The problem is the top dial is stuck. For no apparent reason (it did not fell down or anything) after normal usage I tried to close it but I realised the top dial won't move.
I can "lock" it with the other dials, but that not only reduces it to a 3 dial one, but also neglects the underlying problem.

I tried to reset the combination, successfully, but now instead of just the up-most dial not moving at all, now it became really hard to move the second dial either. So now I got a reset padlock which has 1 dial stuck the second dying, but I still can reset it to further combinations without an issue.

It is not even too old, 3-4 years or so. I believe they often come with life long guarantee but unfortunately I do not have a receipt.

Any ideas to help it or any explanations what can this be?

Here's a photo of the padlock:

Thank you very much for your help and ideas :)

Spray some lube at it, that would be the first thing I would try,
you say you didn't drop it, maybe its time to drop it a few times, give the shackle a few jerks too. sometimes it helps to slap them around.
hey, thats all I got right now

Thank you for the advice Rai! :)

Shackle been jerked and it has been soaked with WD 40 :) Forgot to mention it in the original post
To no avail.
I've just tried smashing it a few times to the ground and that didn1T help either.
The padlock itself is not a big loss, I have a few padlocks (LOL) but I'm curious if someone has experienced this before and I would be much interested in an explanation.

Send Master a complaint (nicely, of course!) email asking if this is a warrantee item. Usually from a PR perspective company's will replace things to halt the bad press. Unfortunately there is no learning experience in that! If learning is the goal, break out the die grinder! :whip:
