Safe with lever lock

Got a chance to open another safe. This time without a group 2 lock. My first encounter with a lever lock..

Took me 6 hours over 4 days to finally get it.. Yes it took me 6 hours to pick a lock most pickers can do in 5 minutes.. but think I got the hang of now. I've never been a very good picker anyways.
I had to modify a pick I had in order to get the job done.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!
Could you tension the cap, or was it free spinning?
Around here, similar locks are placed on safes only to operate a cover for the mainlock. 50/50 whether tension from front or back.

Thanks,
Ed

It can take quite a bit of time to get intimate with a before unknown lock type and built the tools for it.

The cap keyway was able to tension the levers. It was the serrated edged on the levers and the bolt that made it hard to pick. After taking the lock apart I didn't feel so bad. It's made to be hard.

I bought 4 available blanks I knew would have to be modified to work. The first 3 tries I failed and on the 4th we had success.. I might change the configuration of the levers so all the low levers aren't all together.. thoughts?
