Help? Amsec SafeWizard II

I recently acquired a, what appears to be NOS, SafeWizard II (2) with a slam style latch, power supply etc, seems to be all there except for the interface cables.

I'm having a hard time finding any literature on installation / setup, I've found the basic operation stuff, and trouble shooting, but can not for the life of me find an initial installation / setup guide, as well as a wiring diagram for the interconnect cables, if'n they're not standard.

Thanks,
Mike.

You could ask AMSEC for help.

I've looked all over their website, they "do not answer consumer emails at this time" as per their 'contact us' link, and by that I read that if I'm not one of their dealers or certified installers, then I'm hosed.

I'm not looking to use this in a commercial setting or anything, I came across it, and for a reasonable price, so I grabbed it just to mess with really, that being said, I don't want to dicker it by powering it up and not having things setup properly, or having the initial access code etc. honestly I have no clue as I can find basically no info on it.

As far as I know this is a lock, that is opened remotely and has no keyboard attached. Did you try to supply power? (There should be two wires attached next to the "keyboard connector".) Maybe it does then open without any other action necessary?

I believe MartinHewitt is correct about these being opened remotely. I think they also might operate on a timer. I've serviced these about a dozen times several years ago. I don't remember much about them except they always have issues, and won't open for the customer when they're supposed to. We just show up on site and spend half the time on the phone with tech support to help reset it.

Reading back, I suppose I didn't word my original post as clearly as I could have.
I have a complete safewizard 2 setup, for a single lock.

Head unit (keypad / keytag reader); power supply (wall wart); battery backup / PSU / hub; as well as the latch / lock it's self, including some dummy load or EOLR or whatever they are. Not just the latch / lock.

Basically a complete setup. I will try and get a chance to post pics tomorrow.

This is what I got, no cables and a few of the little yellow or green tipped plugs.

So... it works, sort of, the screen was mush when I first powered it up, I ended up making some standard RJ-25 Cables (6 pins, all wires used) the screen contacts were dirty apparently, I disassembled and reassembled, got rid of the jibberish. As an aside, the little RJ11 jacks with the yellow tip / shrink tube are in fact EOLR's probably for noise blocking, not like in a typical security setup.

It would appear that the system may have been, at the very least, initialized at some point, during the startup diagnostic it shows that it's expecting two locks, and finds one, and the factory default password (according to the quickstart sheet) doesn't work. I've messed with it a bit, but the usual simple pins ( 2digit user number + 6 digit pin) ie. 01-000000 01-123456 etc, are no good, and it has a 15 minute lockout period after i think 3 or 4 failed attempts, even if waiting what seems to be an obscene amount of time in between tries, so I don't think that counter resets based on a time period; which makes dickering with it a pain in my ass..... I also ordered some cheap assed dallas 1990 tags from amazon hoping that if'n it hadn't been programmed to accept one, it may just latch on to whatever was presented,,, no such luck...

Anyways, thanks for looking, if anyone's got any suggestions I'm game, I'll give the random whack-fack password attempts a few more cracks, if that leads me nowhere I'm going to figure out what chip is the EEPROM and either replace or hard wipe it to see if that works to reset it to factory, tho I'm guessing there's some companion code in the eeprom in the lock / latch assembly it's self.

Worst case ontario I've got a decent LCD, matrixed 4x4 keypad, dallas tag reader, power supply, 12v 18650 battery pack and power supply for messing with I guess...

Thanks,
Mike.
