LaGard 33e Combination Change (W/O existing Combo)

In the post I'll be explaining how to reset and change the combination of a LaGard 33e, without the original/existing combination. A few years ago I was contacted by a manager of a restaurant I used to work at. They had an ATM but no codes and the owner died. They wanted to confirm there was no cash in it so they asked me to take a look. Long story short a Safe & Vault Tech from the UK I had been speaking to for a while told me how to crack it open like a walnut. Anyhow, I was left with what I thought was a useless electronic safe lock until he told me how to reset and change the combination. Well he shared his knowledge with me and I'd like to do the same with this amazing forum and show anyone who owns one of these (without the combo) how to do it.

This is how.

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the sticker by cutting or peeling to expose the board.

2. Insert a jumper into the two holes as seen in the picture. I used a paper clip as my jumper.

3. Reconnect the battery and press 5 within 5 seconds.

4. Disconnect the battery and remove the jumper.

5. Plug the battery back in and enter the code '555555' then '000000' and then '555555.'

6. You're now ready to enter in the 6 digit code of your choice. Enter your code, 123456 as an example, twice.

You're now back in control of this lock.

I was referring to the ATM itself. I'd looove to share but.. rules and such. ;)
Surprisingly it doesn't take much; 3 tools.

I'd love to see you do that reset through the closed and locked door of a working safe ;)

I don't have a lot to contribute to this forum but I'm glad I can at least contribute this. Thanks to everyone and anyone that views, especially those that put this information to use.

Re: LaGard 33e Combination Change (W/O existing Combo)

i used this info to fix my atm lock. it was locked open and a few people messed with it and none of the 6 digit codes would open the door. it took me a few tries and i had to remove some of the clear coat from the circuit board to make good contact with the spots for the jumper.
thank you for the info!!!!!

Re: LaGard 33e Combination Change (W/O existing Combo)

I cant get to that part of the lock the key pad has 2 wires coming over the door in between the 2 wires plugs into my keypad bought 5 machines and no way to opened them I change all factory codes reset but still everything want move. So these 2 wires must go over the 2nd door to the solenoid. The keypad has it's own board that the 2 wires plugs into one looks like its mounted the other goes to battery I been on this one a out 3 weeks kick me Every way but out. I'm not a quitter
