I'm hoping whoever opened that safe isn't a "locksmith"

My guess is, he is. The most clueless locksmiths here in Germany use angle grinders to open safes. This sieve is actually one step up on the skill ladder.

My friend has seen one safe that a clueless locksmith here tried to open. Said that the door looked like a shotgun practice target, 20-30 holes in it here and there. All just 3 mm deep, as behind the outside skin was the "drillproof" layer :D Yeah, HSS just doesn't eat it at all and the locksmith had no idea of anything. Luckily most of he locksmiths understand that this is a special field and just call me or my friend to open the safe.
