Project Safe

Picked up a small used safe for 20 dollars. Old, rusty no combination. Someone had burnt a hole in the top and made a ugly repair.
Still a work in progress.

Re: Project Safe

A 3330 or the small LG?

Looks already better than new.

Re: Project Safe

LG 3330. The spindle was bent to the point I used a 2x4 block of wood and beat it back to a some-what straight, spin-able state.
The lock will be replaced. Not sure what I will put on it? Depends on what I can get for cheap but still looks and works well.
I may just keep changing locks and make it my practice safe.

Re: Project Safe

An old S&G dial would IMHO look much better on this safe.

Re: Project Safe

That came out looking great good job. Making it a practice safe is a very good idea.

Re: Project Safe

Actually, I think this would be the nicest dial combined with that handle.

Re: Project Safe

I think there are differences in manipulating locks that are installed, compared to locks that are on practice mounts. I will need to seal up some holes to ensure it's not possible for me to cheat. Much like picking a lock, on a door, at a lockout with the Sheriff standing behind you, tapping his foot with his arms crossed. Adds a bit of stress and realism.

Martin: That is a sweet looking dial and I will keep it in mind while shopping.
