Chubb safe Kaba 9111 key lock

This Chubb safe that I got, has dual lock capabilities. I have temporary fitted a Securam, and due to the flaws in this lock, I wanted to also deploy the original Kaba 9111 key lock as a second lock, and use it when I'm moving away from my home. But in daily use, I would prefer to only use the digital Securam for conveniance. Problem is, I cannot remove the key from the Kaba 9111 in the unlocked position. Is there a way to modify the lock so that the key can be removed while lock is open?

What do you mean with Kaba 9111? Your link doesn't work for me. Requires a google login. Do you refer to a Kaba Mauer 71111 President?

Two things prevent the removal of the key:

1) A nose on the bolt assembly
2) The asymmetry of the key hole

I don't see a reason why it can't be modified.

And check first if the key way of the safe is large enough.

Of course such a mod removes any insurance rating and should anything happen they won't pay out.

Martin, as far as I can see after dismantling the lock, the protrusion marked in your rightmost picture turns out to be the edge that actuates the bolt retracting plate, so it cannot be removed...
