Here is a pic of the type that I picked up in the pawn shop..

If you hit it hard on the top it moves the solenoid so it can open

And I'm just gonna be blunt here; this is NOT a good suggestion, nor is it ethical. (just one fellas opinion tho)

Although I was just kidding, I know people who would do this, but not like they are good friends type of thing.

Where did you get this information from? Because from your post it seems that you have no idea what you are doing or what those wires do and don't do.

My coworker who specializes in safes told me he often does this.

As far as the wires go I know the four link to the solenoid from pausing videos from Mr Locksmith doing the magnet trick.

I don't have a REM magnet and don't have money to blow on one (and still make a return).

As for knowledge of solenoids themselves, I studied them in the Navy as an ET. It's an electromagnet and a spring. Two wires must supply the magnet and two must act as a switch.

Yes, many electronic safes can be hotwired...after you drill them and fish the solenoid wires. I don't think I've ever seen a safe that had the solenoid wires coming outside the safe.

Probably because in Finland no Sentry safes are sold.

They probably are or I've been hallucinating in the hardware store. Like I said, I've never seen a safe that had the solenoid wires coming outside the safe.

Have a look at 1:33. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHDuUPcJdiU There is no electronics inside.

Am I missing something? Can't you just pick it open? The password reset button is inside. Just pick the simple wafer lock.......

It's the same as this:

Not possible to say from that video alone, as it is not showing the solenoid area from above. I suspect there is something more as there is 5 wires going in the direction of the solenoid.
