Older Sentry

I was surfing Quad City Craigslist about a month ago and happened upon a Sentry that was open and the dial and wheel pack were not attached to, but inside the safe. Owner offered it for free. My brother just happens to live in the area so I called him and he picked it up for me. (a 5 hour drive from my house). Last week his son visited him and brought it back. I got it from my nephew a couple days ago. The wheel pack was just missing a snap ring and small washer. The safe had been drilled and the hole was a gigantic 3/8" (overkill). Hole can be seen through wheel gates. I'll plugged the hole and resell it.

I would like to see your method of repair. Most likely it will be the strongest spot on the safe.
Also how to make your repair vanish and the outside to look brand new.

repair won't be anything fancy. from front of safe I'll drive a bolt through and grind both ends flush. no need to paint as the dial will hide repair.

Would it weaken the unspecified fire protection?
