Hello, I recently bought an old meilink safe from a government auction website: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=M ... cctid=4703

The combination did not come with it. Fortunately though, the serial number is still on it.
This particular safe has been sitting in the back of a warehouse for 25 years unopened. It can literally have anything inside.

If any experts could help me figure out some ways to open this safe preferably without damaging it that would be awesome, and I'll be sure to upload some pictures when I finally get it open.
Down below I've attached some pictures of the safe and the serial number.

Check out Femurat's articles on safe manipulation. I am fairly new to it but am picking it up quickly. I can give you some tips if you want but you should do some reading on your own first so you have some sort of a general idea. Also look up "The National Locksmith's Guide to Manipulation." I would be willing to bet that is an S&G spring loaded fence lock so you have some kind of idea of what to look for in the book. Good luck and keep us posted!

The lock is probably an imitation version of the S&G 6709 with hand change (mesh) plastic wheels. Sequence is 4L-3R-2L-R to stop. Handle turns CCW.

Drop-in position of the 6709 is at 97.

A number of government GAS safes I have come across, not all, have had the combinations set to 50-0-50 or 50-25-50 prior to sale or disposal.

Meilink made those safes not only for themselves but for other companies as well. I have one that was badged Montgomery Wards. I can't help you with the opening but I thought I might give you a couple photos of the lock.

That lock is an imitation of a Mosler lock. It should manipulate like any other though.
